The Washington Nationals Racing Presidents, Abe, George, Tom and Teddy, took part in their first Elephant Walk last week.
The annual event takes place when the Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey Circus comes to town (March 18-21 at Verizon Center) and the elephants are off-loaded from the train early and walk the rest of the way.
This year's route for the animal walk:
*Start on Virginia Ave. S.E. (By Garfield Park)
*Northwest on Washington Ave. S.W.
*West on Independence Ave. S.W.
*North on 3rd St. S.W./N.W.
*West on G St. N.W.
*North on 6th Street to the loading dock of the Verizon Center.
