Washington Nationals Host Boston Red Sox in the
“Nationals Dream Foundation Classic”

Festivities Include Season Ticket Holder Appreciation Day & Pregame Recognitions of Mayor Adrian M. Fenty and the Council of the
District of Columbia

WHAT: The “Nationals Dream Foundation Classic” will take place on Saturday, April 3 at 4:05 p.m. when the Nationals host the Boston Red Sox for their final exhibition game of 2010. Nationals fans will get a sneak-peek at the new roster – including Catcher Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez, Second Baseman Adam Kennedy and Pitcher Brian Bruney, along with veteran favorites Ryan Zimmerman and Adam Dunn.

The Nationals “Bring a Smile to Haiti Drive” will begin with the exhibition game and run through the entire month of April. Fans are encouraged to donate new toothbrushes at either the Community Desk, located in Left Field, or the Dream Foundation Kiosk in the Center Field Plaza.

Prior to the game, the club will host Season Ticket Holder Appreciation Day to thank fans for their continued support of the team. The event will feature:
  • Nationals Player Photo Stations (11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.)
  • Town Hall Q&A with Nationals Manager Jim Riggleman and players (12:45 p.m. – 1:15 p.m.)
  • Opportunity to watch Nationals Batting Practice from the lower bowl (1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.)
  • Coca-Cola Bounce House
  • PlayStation Pavilion
  • Exxon StrikeZone (complimentary during event)
  • Build-A-Bear Workshop
  • Kids Jungle Gym
  • Nats Family Picnic Area
  • NatMobile
  • Majestic Team Store

Pregame ceremonies will begin at 3:50 p.m. and feature members of the District of Columbia government
  • Introduction and on-field recognition of Mayor Adrian M. Fenty, Council Chairman Vincent C. Gray, Councilmembers, Board of Directors (or Board Members) of the Washington Convention and Sports Authority, and ANC 6D Commissioners
  • Ceremonial First Pitch delivered by Mayor Fenty
  • Presentation of the Colors by the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Guard
  • Performance of the National Anthem by the Duke Ellington High School for the Performing Arts Choir
  • Line-up card delivery by Washington Convention and Sports Authority President and CEO Greg O’Dell
  • Starting Nine featuring National Cherry Blossom Festival Youth Ambassadors
  • Play Ball Announcement by City Council Chairman Vincent Gray

UPDATED:  It is highly suggested to allow plenty of time to get to Nats Park due to Cherry Blossom Festival.  There are lots and lots of tourists in town, the weather is perfect and cherry blossoms are at peak.

Also, there will be fireworks at 8:30 p.m. at Southwest Waterfront.
