Congratulations to Wil and Yormarie Nieves who welcomed a beautiful, healthy baby girl this evening. Maria Isabel was born on Wednesday, August 18 at 5:28pm. Maria Isabel is the first child for the couple and they have been eagerly awaiting her arrival.
After doctor-presribed bed rest for three months, Yormarie returned to Nationals Park on Friday, August 13 to see her husband make his last start before parenthood. "Friday the 13th" brought nothing but good vibes to the Nieves couple. Wil hit his fourth career home run (second of this season) and the Nationals beat the Arizona Diamonbacks 4-2.
After the game, Yormarie went down to the field to congratulate Wil and wanted photos taken of them. She is 39 weeks pregnant here and is just glowing. They look so happy. Baby Maria Isabel is one lucky little girl.

Nationals Catcher Wil Nieves was placed on the temporary leave list and catcher Wilson Ramos was called up from Syracuse. Ramos is wearing #3 in his first time in a Nationals uniform (Nats got Ramos in the trade with the Minnesota Twins for Matt Capps).
