Prior to the game on Sunday, September, 26, 2010 against the Atlanta Braves, the Washington Nationals will honor Braves’ Manager Bobby Cox for his more than 40 years of service in Major League Baseball.  Cox has managed for twenty-nine years -- the Toronto Blue Jays for four and the other twenty-five with the Atlanta Braves.

During his prolific career, Cox was named Manager of the Year four times (1985, 1991, 2004 and 2005). He is one of only four managers to have won the award in both the American and National Leagues and the only manager to win it in consecutive years (2004 and 2005). From 1991 to 2005, Cox won a record 14 straight divisional titles, five National League Pennants and the World Series in 1995 with the Braves.

With the win over the Nationals on Saturday, Cox reached 2,500 wins and only three other managers have more.

The ceremony begins at 1:15pm.
