SneakerBall is an annual black tie and sneakers gala that celebrates the best of sports in the Greater Washington D.C. region, Organized by the Greater Washington Sports Alliance Foundation.

SneakerBall VII is an interactive awards program. The public will vote for the winners in categories that define excellence in athletic performance, franchise leadership, community sponsorship and media coverage.

Best Team Spirit Award:
VOTE NAT PACK!  Presented to the most enthusiastic and motivating Spirit Team in the Greater Washington, D.C. region.


• Face of Washington Nationals entertainment and the Nationals Fan Ambassadors
• The in-park and around-the-District entertainment squad that performs at every Washington Nationals home game as well as at outside events
• Host contests, appears on the Nats HD Scoreboard, launches t-shirts, interacts with the mascots, and assists in promotions and prize giveaways
• Make appearances at season ticket holder events, Nationals Dream Foundation events, and Watch Parties

Solid Character Award:
VOTE MATT CAPPS!  Presented to the professional athlete that best exemplifies community and charitable qualities.
• Named to the 2010 National League All-Star Team
• Participated in the Nationals' Winter Caravan which included a stop to Children's National Medical Center to visit with patients undergoing treatment there
• Visited both Children's National Medical Center and Inova Faifax Hospital for Children in his first season in Washington, D.C.
• Made a trip to Walter Reed Army Medical Center in May to visit with wounded soldiers undergoing rehabilitation treatment


Pivotal Play of the Year:  Awarded to the player wo executed the most remarkable play of the year in the Greatest, Washington area.

VOTE STRASBURG'S 14TH STRIKEOUT IN DEBUT [Watch video] : Called by many “the most hyped pitching debut in Major League Baseball history”, Steven Strasburg managed to surpass all lofty expectations by delivering a historic performance on June 8, 2010 against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The pinnacle of the record breaking night was when he fanned Andy LaRoche in the top of the 7th inning to tally his franchise-high 14th strikeout. The eruption of the sold-out crowd after the pitch tells all, and the Nats went on to a 5 – 2 win.
