AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION HOSTS START! HEART WALK AT NATIONALS PARK

On Saturday, November 6, Nationals Park will serve as the venue for the American Heart Association Greater Washington Region’s 15th Annual Start! Heart Walk, a non-competitive, three-mile walk for individuals of all ages. Event festivities will utilize the various spaces in the ballpark to offer yoga exhibitions, a Kids Corner, health screenings, and more in an effort to promote physical activity and heart-healthy living.

With an expected crowd of more than 6,000 people, the Start! Heart Walk will be one of the largest fund raising walks held at Nationals Park and marks the culmination of yet another successful season for the venue. Since opening its gates in the spring of 2008, Nationals Park has served as the venue for more than 250 non-baseball events, and continues to attract attention as a unique and exciting option for charitable events due to its beautiful club spaces, expansive concourses, entertainment options, plentiful parking and access to public transportation.

In addition to the Start! Heart Health Walk, Nationals Park welcomed in 2010 the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes, the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk, the ADA Step Out Walk to Fight Diabetes, the Komen 3-Day for the Cure Opening Ceremonies, Breathe DC’s Breathe Walk, The Fishing School’s annual Gala, Ryan Zimmerman’s Night at the Park fundraiser to benefit his ziMS Foundation and fight MS, as well as many others.
