Photos: Cole Kimball's MLB Debut and First Pitch

RHP Cole Kimball was recalled from the Syracuse Chiefs Triple-A affiliate Saturday morning, May 14, 2011 after the Nats designated RHP Brian Broderick for assignment.

According to Bill Ladson, Kimball is the first Nationals player from the 2006 First-Year Player Draft to be promoted to the big leagues.

Cole Kimball made his MLB Debut at Nationals Park in the ninth inning facing Gaby Sanchez of the Florida Marlins. Cole's first pitch was a 92mph strike. Sanchez struck out swinging. Logan Morrison lined out to second base. Mike Stanton walked. Greg Dobbs flied out to left field.

Kimball threw 18 pitches-9 strikes in his first successful outing with one walk, one strikeout and a 0.00 ERA. Welcome to DC Cole!
