Players and coaches were introduced in small groups every few minutes and would walk on the grass inside the warning track to meet and greet Nats fans. The idea was to be able to take photos of the players or with the players as they passed by. Many fans simply wanted to shake their idol's hands and thank them for playing hard.
Although autographs were not permitted, several players stopped to sign when asked. Unfortunately, a couple of generous players stopped to sign too many autographs and had to be rushed by the fans at the end robbing them of a photo. That was the only complaint of the afternoon.
The event was a success and every fan within earshot hoped for a repeat next season.
MVP of Photo Day: Michael Morse - He was the "rock star" that stopped for every single fan to sign autographs, pose for photos, shake hands, chat with fans and spent a full hour on the field. Thanks Michael!
