Washington Nationals Host 2011 Picnic in the Park

The Washington Nationals will welcome Season Ticket Holders out on Saturday, September 17 for Picnic in the Park, the annual celebration that gives the team’s most devoted fans insider access to Nationals Park. This year’s fun-filled event will be held from noon to 4:00 p.m. before the Nationals face the Florida Marlins at 7:05 p.m.

To celebrate their loyalty to the team, Season Ticket Holders will have the opportunity to interact with some of their favorite Nationals players, coaches and executives. These dedicated fans are also invited to participate in a variety of activities and unique experiences throughout the ballpark.

Highlights include:
o Player autograph and photo stations
o Q&A sessions with various team personalities
o *Jr. Nats-only water balloon toss with Nationals players
o ‘Antique Roadshow’ exhibit, featuring historic sports memorabilia and the opportunity for expert appraisals
o Opportunity to throw pitches in the Nationals bullpen, take live batting practice in the Exxon Strike Zone, *enjoy exercise demonstrations or watch D.C.-area celebrities take batting practice

The annual event will also offer:
o Ballpark organ request hour
o Kids Story Time with stories read by Nationals players
o Special Kids Zone with activities including carnival games, inflatables, face painters and balloon artists

All attendees must have a Sept. 17 game ticket for admission as well as a Picnic in the Park pass, which is included as part of each season ticket package. Passes are not available to the general public. Attendees can remain in the park after the event leading up to the first pitch. Several activities will require fans to register upon arrival on a first come, first served basis behind Section 109 on the main concourse.
