**UPDATED: Tickets available now.
The Dave Matthews Band and Zac Brown Band will perform the third-ever concert at Nationals Park on Friday, July 23, 2010. The Inaugural concert was Elton John and Billy Joel on July 11, 2009 during the duo's "Face 2 Face" tour. Click here to see how the ballpark changed from baseball field to rock arena.
Both bands are performing on the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards this Sunday, January 31.
The Dave Matthews Band is almost like a hometown band -- DMB got its start in Charlottesville, Virginia in the early 90s. Dave Matthews Band has been nominated for Album of the Year and Best Rock Album (Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King) for the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards.
If their name doesn't sound familiar, you may recognize Zac Brown Band's hit song, "Chicken Fried" which Josh Willingham often used as his batting song. Zac Brown Band earned three Grammy nominations for Best New Artist, Best Country Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals ("Chicken Fried") and Best Country Album (The Foundation).
Tickets will go on sale on Friday, February 26 at 10 a.m. online.

Nationals Press Release:
Dave Matthews Band announced today they will perform at Nationals Park – the home of the Washington Nationals -- on Friday, July 23 with Zac Brown Band as support. This will be the ballpark’s second-ever show, following Elton John and Billy Joel’s sold-out show in July 2009.
Tickets and parking will go on sale to the general public on Friday, February 26 at 10:00 a.m. online at www.tickets.com and by phone at 888-632-6287. The show will be held rain or shine and will be promoted by Live Nation.
“We pride ourselves on playing at some of the most unique venues in the world,’’ said Matthews. “Nationals Park is the newest and most exciting outdoor venue in the DC market and we are very excited to be the second show to play there.”
“We are very excited to have the biggest concert of 2010 as our second summer concert in Nationals Park,” said Stan Kasten, Nationals President. “Elton John and Billy Joel gave the DC community an unforgettable performance in July 2009 and the Nationals are thrilled to host the “hometown” Dave Matthews Band in the summer of 2010.”
“Nationals Park has quickly established itself as one of the premier concert venues in the country,” said Ted Mankin, Live Nation. “Dave Matthews Band is a perfect fit for the ballpark.”
The Grammy Award-winning Dave Matthews Band has sold more than 15 million tickets for its concerts, and has been named the top-drawing American band in the world by Billboard. Pollstar named the group its “Top Act of the Decade” and Spinner dubbed them one of the “Top Artists of the 2000s.”
Dave Matthews Band has been nominated for “Album of the Year” and “Best Rock Album” at this month’s 52nd Annual Grammy Awards.
The group will be touring Europe next month in support of its album, “Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King,” its first studio album in four years. Produced by Rob Cavallo (Green Day, My Chemical Romance), Big Whiskey has been hailed by Rolling Stone as the group’s “heaviest album yet, both musically and emotionally,” which went on to note: “Throughout, Carter Beauford beats out elaborate, propulsive groves; bassist Stefan Lessard lays down Flea-style funk bass lines; violinist Boyd Tinsley plays cresting, intense runs; and Matthews mirrors Moore’s saxophone lines with scatlike singing.” Billboard, in a cover story on Dave Matthews Band, praised Big Whiskey as “its best album yet…”
Formed in Charlottesville, Virginia in 1991, Dave Matthews Band has sold a collective 35 million units (CD and DVD combined). Dave Matthews Band is Carter Beauford (drums), Stefan Lessard (bass), Dave Matthews (vocals, guitar) and Boyd Tinsley (violin). Saxophonist LeRoi Moore, the fifth original founding member, passed away during the band’s summer 2008 tour.
