- Number 8 Most Career Home Runs (586)
- 14 Time All-Star
- 1971 MLB All-Star Game MVP
- Elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982
- First African-America Manager in MLB history (Cleveland Indians)
- Managed from 1975-2006 for Indians, Giants, Orioles, Expos/Nationals
- 1989 AL Manager of the Year (Orioles)
- Named MLB's Senior Vice President of Operations in 2007
