Danny Espinosa: Welcome to Washington!

The Washington Nationals have called up Danny Espinosa as one of their September callups. Congrats Danny! Espinosa is a very athletic ballplayer and has had quite a successful year in the minors.  He has primarily played shortshop, however, has played second base in Syracuse.

Personally, I would really like to see Espinosa at 2B and Ian Desmond as SS next year. They are two young ballplayers, with incredible amount of talent, that could build a foundation for the Nationals future.

In 123 games in the minor leagues this year, Espinosa has hit 22 home runs, 69 RBI, 25 SB and .268 BA. Danny currently has a twelve game hitting streak with the Syracuse Chiefs. Danny is the one of only two minor- league players in any organization with at least 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases.

Really looking forward to see Danny Espinosa in a Natinals uniform.  Until then, here are a few photos of Danny from this year.

Looks like the ball will go through, but Danny snags it...

...aims while airborne...

...and fires the ball to 1B...

...watches ball take flight...

...and makes the out!
