HAPPY 43rd BIRTHDAY PAT LISTACH!
(Nationals Third Base Coach)

Before Pat Listach was a coach, he was major leaguer for six seasons. Listach was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in 1988 (Brewers were in the American League then) in the fifth round. He won the 1992 AL Rookie of the Year with a .290 batting average, 47 RBI and 54 stolen bases (the second highest stolen base total in the league!).  Pat played for Brewers from 1992-1996 and Houston Astros in 1997, primarily a shortstop, he also played at 2B, 3B and all three OF positions.

Listach was named Pacific Coast League (PCL) in 2008 leading the Triple-A Cubs to a first-place finish. He managed for nine seasons in the minor leagues before he was named third base coach of the Washington Nationals by former Manager Manny Acta.  2010 is in his second season as third base coach for the Nats.
