Fans can make a cash donation through the weekend in Center Field Plaza. Look for the Nationals First Ladies with Red Cross cans.

WASHINGTON NATIONALS LAUNCH TORNADO RELIEF CAMPAIGN

The Washington Nationals will launch a special initiative to support relief efforts in areas devastated by recent tornadoes. During the team’s series against the St. Louis Cardinals and the Baltimore Orioles from June 14 to June 19, a portion of proceeds from tickets purchased at nationals.com/relief will be donated to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief fund.

Tickets eligible for the donation include:
· LF/RF Baseline Reserved
· LF/RF Corner
· Outfield Reserved
· Scoreboard Pavilion

In addition, Red Cross volunteers will be on hand during both series to collect donations.

The Washington Nationals collected over 1,100 neckties during their first-ever tie drive on Thursday, June 25 during their game against the Boston Red Sox. The collected ties will benefit Career Gear, a non-profit organization that serves disadvantaged and underserved men in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area.

The Nationals partnership with Career Gear includes the collection of suits and ties from on-field personnel and front office staff. Additionally, Career Gear will identify a beneficiary to receive a suit made by a tailor used by Nationals players to be presented during a pre-game recognition ceremony at the end of the baseball team’s season.

“Washington Nationals fans continue to demonstrate their incredible generosity with their contributions to another successful drive,” said Nationals Vice President of Communications and Community Relations Chartese Burnett. “Throughout the team’s five years in the District, our fans have stepped up to the plate time and again to help those less fortunate then themselves.”
