The Washington Nationals-Arizona Diamondbacks game scheduled for Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 7:05 p.m. was delayed until 7:25 p.m.

As a precautionary measure following Tuesday’s earthquake, the team delayed opening gates to the ballpark to allow D.C. inspectors and structural engineers to survey the facility prior to the game.

Due to the delay, unused game tickets for the August 23rd game may be exchanged at the Nationals Park Box Office in order to receive new tickets for seats of equal or lesser value to any remaining home game during the 2011 regular season*. For more information on exchanging tickets purchased through nationals.com or the Nationals telephone charge line, please call 888.632.NATS(6287).

On game days, the Nationals Park Box Office is open Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. until 30 minutes after the end of the game, and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until 30 minutes after the end of the game. Box office hours on non-game days are Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

There are several fun events scheduled for this weekend for the three game series showdown with the Arizona Diamondbacks. If you cannot make it to the park, take advantage of the free event on Saturday in town to meet some of the Nationals players.

The Nats Host Fourth Annual Back-to-School Drive on Saturday and Sunday, August 14-15 at the Center Field Gate from the time gates open to the fourth inning. The materials collected will benefit District of Columbia Public Schools. This year’s recipients will be Browne and Wheatley Education Campuses. Last year's drive collected more than 5,000 supplies. Requested supplies include, but are not limited to: backpacks, calculators, composition and spiral notebooks, crayons, glue sticks, loose leaf binders, new lunchboxes, paper, pencils, pencil boxes, pocket folders and rulers.
